Flexi ACiON Smart Console User Guide
📑 Quick Navigation
1. Display & Keyboard
1.1 The Display
A bright 3.2" TFT LCD display is the core of the console. Every time it turns on it will display first the Zapi logo and then the HOME SCREEN. Majority of menus has a simple color palette with white text on black background. Display brightness can be adjusted.
ℹ️ Note: While showing information on screen, a certain level of latency is always present. This latency is due to console-controller communication speed, not display speed.
1.2 The Keyboard
The keyboard is used to navigate the different menus. It features keys with special functions and a green LED.
| Key | Function |
|---|---|
| UP and DOWN | Move selection up and down (scroll). Selected item is highlighted in light blue. |
| LEFT and RIGHT | Increase and decrease the value associated with the selected item inside a menu. |
| OK and ESC | OK: Confirm actions or enter a submenu. ESC: Cancel an action or exit a menu. |
| F1, F2, F3 | Contextual use. The display will indicate which F button can be used and its function. |
| GREEN LED | When the console is powered on and running, the green LED is on. |
2. Connecting to Flexi ACE Control Panel
⚠️ CAN Connection Requirements
- Connecting cable is different from serial
- Parameters cannot be modified unless a password is used
- Console connects to CAN line, not individual controller
- Can connect at any point of the CAN wires
Connecting Cable
Zapi has developed a cable customized for the Flexi application, available from Narrow Aisle part number 55481-13-000.
Home Screen and Password
After showing the Zapi logo, the PASSWORD screen will be shown on the display (if Password Screen is not shown, see Section 6).
🔐 Password Required: To be able to change any parameters, please contact Narrow Aisle Technical Support for the password.
CAN Connection Methods
CAN connection can be achieved in two ways:
1. CAN CONSOLE menu
Choose this method if the CAN node number is known (NODE 8=Traction, NODE 16=Pump, NODE 24=Steer)
2. AUTOSCAN CAN menu (Recommended)
Use this method to scan the CAN line and receive a list of present nodes. When scan is complete, select the node to connect to.
Connection Procedure
- Using UP and DOWN buttons, highlight AUTO SCAN CAN and press OK
- Ensure the truck is powered ON before scanning
- Select protocol: CAN OPEN(Important!)
- Smart Console will scan the CAN line (can take up to 5 seconds)
- After scan, list of nodes will be shown
- Select desired node and press OK to connect
- If nodes are missing, press F1 to refresh
CAN Node Reference
| Node | Controller |
|---|---|
| 8 | ACE3 Traction Inverter Master µC |
