Smart Stop Configuration

Automated Travel Speed Reduction Safety Feature

🛡️ Safety Feature: Smart Stop automatically reduces travel speed when obstacles are detected by proximity sensors, providing enhanced safety for operators and nearby personnel.

⚙️ Minimum Software Levels Required

Controller Minimum Version
ACE-3 (Traction) nnr0.32
ACE-2 (Pump) nnr0.32
AC-0 (Steer) nnr0.32
Eco Display nnr0.17

Configuration Parameters

ACE-3 Traction Controller Settings

Menu Parameter Setting
Set Options SMART STOP SPD 0.15
Set Options SMART STOP ON

ℹ️ Note: SMART STOP SPD value of 0.15 is the default setting. This determines the reduced speed when obstacles are detected.

ACE-2 Pump Controller Settings

Menu Parameter Setting
Set Options EV3 DIGITAL

ℹ️ Note: EV3 controls the buzzer relay output that provides audible warning when Smart Stop is activated.

🔌 Sensor Inputs and Outputs

Monitored in ACE-2 Pump Tester Menu

Input/Output Function
Pot#4 Input S/Stop Right (Right proximity sensor)
Pot#2 Input S/Stop Left (Left proximity sensor)
Output EV3 Output Buzzer Relay (Audible warning)

How Smart Stop Works

Smart Stop uses proximity sensors on both the left and right sides of the vehicle to detect obstacles. When an obstacle is detected:

1

Detection

The proximity sensors (monitored via Pot#2 and Pot#4) detect an object in the vehicle's path.

2

Speed Reduction

The traction controller automatically reduces travel speed to the configured SMART STOP SPD value (0.15 default).

3

Audible Warning

The buzzer relay ( EV3 output) activates to provide an audible warning to the operator and nearby personnel.

4

Normal Operation Resumes

Normal travel speed resumes once the obstacle is no longer detected by the sensors.
